For those involved in patient care, from the patient to the doctor, understanding the right course of treatment can be a flustering, frustrating experience. There is no one-size-fits-all method of care, and with lives and livelihoods hanging in the balance, this is a problem for everyone involved in the healthcare industry, including insurers, hospitals, drugmakers and legislators. That’s why several involved groups have created what are known as Value Assessment Frameworks, but even these don’t provide a fully satisfying solution, thanks to the uniqueness of every patient’s situation. National Pharmaceutical Council is urging key stakeholders to continue refining these assessments by releasing Guiding Practices, designed to help stakeholders consider value through a broader, patient-focused lens.
