For veterans returning from war zones, the transition back to normal life can be difficult. Even something that seems simple like finding a job can be a challenge. With high unemployment rates for veterans, Hilton wanted to be part of the solution and not the problem. So a few years ago, the hotel chain committed to hiring 10,000 veterans in five years. Not only did they reach their goal, but they did it more than two years ahead of schedule. Veterans work in pretty much every facet of Hilton’s properties, from front desk to the kitchen and management. For veterans and their families, efforts like these go a long way to healing the wounds of war.
